These three workshops span over two days at the Charlotte Street Arts Center. The purpose of these workshops is to prepare craftspeople for the wholesale market, and exporting.

Ready, Set, Go!
January 11, 10am-4pm

Preparing to Wholesale Your Product…
Developed for our annual wholesale trade show and wholesale related projects presented by Craft Alliance; Ready, Set, Go! is a full-day workshop on Preparing to Wholesale Your Product. The workshop is designed to assist producers of craft, giftware and apparel in preparing to market their products through wholesale trade shows. Participants attending this one-day workshop will learn about; producing for wholesale marketing, packaging, pre-marketing and promotional materials for trade shows, product design and development, pricing for wholesale, booth design, selling techniques, and other important tips to prepare you to enter the trade show market. Participants are asked to bring a sample of their product with them to the workshop.

Export and Niche Markets for Craft
This session will focus on Craft Alliance and project development in niche markets. Presentation will focus on the mandate and objectives of Craft Alliance along with new projects and activities in the craft sector, as well as new directions and programs on-going
and under development. An overview of current market conditions, trends and what craftspeople can do to expand their markets, opportunities and export potential.
Getting Ready to Export
January 12, 1pm-4pm
Fee: $20+tax
Approx. 3 hours
This session is a great introduction to Exporting. The session will focus on the requirements to become export ready and the logistics for export compliance for clearance of shipments outside of Canada. The session includes the Craft Alliance Diagnostic Toolkit to determine whether your business is ready to export and what is required to become export ready. Topics will include; export diagnostic, product requirements, tariff codes, shipping logistics, paperwork and the general requirements for ease of doing business in the United States and other countries.
